Project Team Member (Language and Reading)

Professor Yongyan LI

Professor Yongyan Li is an associate professor in the Faculty of Education, The University of Hong Kong. She is a project team member of the PISA 2025 in Hong Kong Project, assisting with the language literacy domain of PISA 2025. Her research interests include scholarly literacy practices; and the issue of plagiarism in the Chinese context; and intertextual education. Professor Li specialises in English language education, literacies and languages and research methods and methodologies. Her recent research projects include "Source-use pedagogies in academic textbooks published in China" (2022-23) and "Chinese conceptualisations of 'plagiarism' and intertextual education in schools". She is a book review editor of the Journal of English for Research Publication Purposes (John Benjamins) and an editorial Board member of English for Specific Purposes (Elsevier).
